Prof. Chris D. Geddes, PhD

DR. CHRIS D. GEDDES, Ph.D., FRSC, is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader, with a track record of founding numerous companies and commercializing over 350 products, generating over $100 million in enterprise value. He holds more than 125 patents in fluorescence and plasmonics and is an active member of the Baltimore Angels investment group.

In academia, Dr. Geddes is a globally recognized expert in fluorescence spectroscopy, with over 300 peer-reviewed papers and 40 books to his name. He is the Director of the Institute of Fluorescence at UMBC, where his research focuses on nano-bio-technological applications. He is also the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Fluorescence and the founder of several influential journals, including Plasmonics.
